WHO YOU ARE MATTERS
Where I come from.
I come from the vineyards of Santa Rosa in the North Bay of California.
Where I am going + Plan to get there.
I do not have anywhere I specifically want to go, I find solitude here in LA. However, I have a deep rooted dream to settle down for a fraction of my professional life in London. I plan to get there with a hard work to solidify career expertise in Entertainment Finance and carry that with me to a dream role in London.
How I am LIKE my parents.
I am similar to my parents in the sense of independence. I am not someone that has an instinct to always ask for help; I would rather tackle something head on and endure what struggles may come forth with it. I adopted this from watching parents exhibit this continuously growing up. Seeing their resilience to attempt something with their own brains instilled that tendency in me.
How I am UNLIKE my parents.
I am very different from my parents when it comes to music. I absolutely love music, I have been to over 20 concerts in my life, half of my background screen time is from spotify. I do not think I have gone more than two hours without listening to something. My parents are a different story, they only know what they hear my sister and I playing. I have heard the sentence “music is a nuisance” way too many times in my life. If we are driving around and my dad doesnt turn the aux off randomly, that is a sign something might be wrong. This confirms that someone's pain can be someone's pleasure, in this case it is a melody with lyrics.
Have I developed my own expectations for myself or am I operating under someone else's expectations?
My own expectations are rooted in perfectionism, which parallels what I want others to see. I want to be good at everything I do, failure frightens me.
Other than a relative, who serves as a model for me of someone who lives life with great passion and personal responsibility?
This is the same answer many 8 year old boys may give, but someone who is a great role model for me in life is Peter Parker, aka Spiderman. I have been a big Spiderman fan since I was a young child, there is something inspiring about his determination and his strive to prove his worth. I see myself in his will to go far in life.
What wild animal do I feel a special connection with, and why?
The wild animal I feel a special connection with is Sea Coral. Coral is undeniably beautiful, a speciality to the deep sea. However, its exterior and composition is self protection. I admire how even with its attraction, its excitement, there is still a great emphasis on protecting its existence.
Describe a significant childhood encounter with a tree or plant.
A significant childhood encounter I have had with a plant was a specific tree in the front yard of my childhood home. While there were many trees, this was the only tree that had accessible branches to climb. I spent so much time up in this tree, sitting and over observing all that is offered.
My horoscope big three.
Sun: Sagittarius
Moon: Cancer
Rising: Sagittarius
London sounds nice. I can relate to your sense of perfectionism in what you do. The sea coral is an interesting animal to select. It is a pretty animal. I never really climbed trees myself but they were good for shade. Entertainment finance sounds like a good niche.
ReplyDeleteI've lived in LA for a big majority of my life so it was cool to hear that you find solitude here in LA. For me personally, I think the weather plays a big role. Whenever I travel to colder countries, I can't help but think of warm and sunny Los Angeles. Also, I've always wanted to climb trees when I was younger but never got to. Your encounter with this tree sounds so special!
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to visit London since it is one of the many cities that I admire. Learning independence and resilience from your parents is such a valuable quality to have, and it sounds like it’s helped shape your approach to challenges.
ReplyDeleteEntertainment finance sounds really cool. As the oldest daughter, I am also incredibly independent, sometimes to a fault. Who is your favourite Spiderman because I am a Andrew Garfield fan.
ReplyDeleteI agree that London is a great city. I can also relate to your expectations of near-perfection even if it's intrinsically difficult. Climbing trees is such a core childhood memory to have.
