world we imagine pt 3

The Compassion Coalition recognizes many of the problems facing our country are not met with compassion, and the impact of legislation to better our nation relies on compassion for the issues plaguing them. This ranges from multitudes of issues, from gun violence to immigration. These acts of violence stripping lives and humility, are always boiled down to debates about economic freedoms rather than the preservation of life.

At the Compassion Coalition, we aim to reintroduce compassion back into US government policymaking to maximize aiding our citizens. Our purpose is to be the bridge between lawmakers and humanizing the experiences behind the issues at hand.

I constantly see how politics often loses its connection to humanity. Gun violence is boiled down to numbers lost and met with words instead of action. We lose the direct impact this continuously has, making it a policy point rather than a travesty. We were often taught from a young age to put ourselves in others shoes, to understand, to mourn instead of mock. High-position lawmakers are in this position to understand and amend how we run from the pain and urgency harming us. It is evident they are operating on a basis where they do not see an issue if it is not affecting them directly, contradicting how they are supposed to stand.

Our coalition stands apart from traditional groups because we create internal conversations rather than outside protests. we operate on the basis of emotional literacy. Our approach:

  • Immersive and collaborative sessions with congress and other lawmakers on the stories on all sides of the pressing issue

  • Policy hearings including live testimonies from impacted individuals

  • Hosting in person private workshops with direct conversations to push empathetic policy briefings

Our missions as an immersive government organization align with the missions AMDP holds as an institution. We operate to transform the grounds of power. Systematic change is inevitable from changing hearts and thoughts from within. Your support would mean we add positivity and relief to the lives under scrutiny and underrepresented by the laws currently implemented.

Society learns from who they have in power. Starting with educating the top will benefit our country beyond those who explicitly need assistance. Empathy and compassion belong in our institution.
